The Mercer Library will host a talk on Thursday, July 27 at 6:00pm by Shari Younger, who biked from Seattle, Washington, to Bar Harbor, Maine.
Shari will share her stories of 3,371 miles riding self-contained (tents, sleeping bags, etc.) with a friend, and riding alone with a SAG (support and gear). Her first ride, from Stevens Point to Bar Harbor in the summer of 1997, could have been titled "The Summer the Wind Blew the Wrong Way." The next summer, 1998, saw Shari ride from Seattle to Stevens Point and could have been titled "Cruisin' Down the Highway, Highway #2."
She will also give tips on bicycle touring equipment, training, and the challenges she faced!
This program is free and open to everyone, and is part of the Mercer Public LIbrary's "Bike to the Library week," July 24-29, 2017.
