From your ICORE President

Our October annual meeting was very successful. After sharing a lovely potluck dinner we had a wonderful program on the Copper Peak Ski jump project by Bob Jacquardt. The audience was mesmerized by Bob’s speech and video presentations. Copper Peak looks to become a wonderful attraction to our Northwoods!

We also had a productive business meeting, with the election of officers and other business. We did run out of time, however, before we collected the annual dues. That is due now: $25.00 per individual or business, and $35.00 per family. Please make your check out to ICORE and send it to Chris Paulik at ICORE, PO Box 685, Mercer, WI, 54547.

Also, I’m excited to announce that Gail and Mike Ondresky successfully got us signed up as a 501C3 entity! (Thank you so much Mike and Gail!). So if you are considering some end-of-year contributions to charity and would like to take this opportunity to support ICORE and outdoor silent sports in Iron County and the area, please do so by sending any additional contributions to Chris at the above address! We will also have our donation and membership form up and running on this website soon, so you can contribute easily and securely using PayPal.

In addition, ICORE has voted to support Kit Bogenschneider and her Iron County Silen Sports Meetup. Signing up for Meetup is free and easy, and by doing so you can see Kit's hiking, snowshoeing, and kayak events. Please take a moment to sign up for Meetup, put in your preferences, and see what is going on in the area. It’s great fun!! And if you are conducting any silent sports get-togethers (within 25 miles of Mercer) you can post them for free in the Iron County Silent Sports Meetup. Just send your contact information to me at my email address ( and I will forward it to Kit.

Thanks so much for your participation in ICORE! See you at our next event!

Martha Pierpont,
President ICORE
