From Heather Palmquist at the Iron County Land & Water Conservation Department:
I am excited to announce a new volunteer program we are trying to get started in Iron County! The Water Action Volunteer (WAV) Program has been around since 2002 as far as I understand, yet we have not had much participation in our county.
We have the streams, so let’s get out there and do some data collection! We are hosting a training on Monday, May 8th at the Iron County Forestry and Hwy Building from 10:30-4:30 with some time on the stream, so be prepared. If you waders or hip boots please bring them, along with rain gear, and a sack lunch. We will have some hip boots available to use if you don’t have your own. I have attached the agenda and if you are interested in attending please let me know by calling or emailing so we can be prepared for the amount of participants.
For more information on the WAV program visit http://watermonitoring.uwex.edu/wav/. Please, pass this on to others, help spread the word. Please pre-register by calling 715/561-2234 or simply emailing me. I hope to see you on the 8th!
